The Power Of The Green Tea Leaf
The green tea leaf has been used for thousands of years in China to create healthy teas that have been enjoyed by literally billions of people. This would probably make you wonder what is so special about the green tea leaf. The leaf comes from the Camellia sinensis plant, more commonly referred to as “the tea plant”. The leaf itself is relatively plain looking. It is long, slender and a rich green color. An ignorant person would never be able to understand all of its special properties.
A great aspect of green tea is that it contains just enough caffeine to provide steady energy without a crash. On the other hand, coffee is addictive and will leave people feeling jittery and uncomfortable. The green tea leaf also contains a powerful blend of antioxidants that can prevent a variety of health problems. These antioxidants have the ability to collect “free radicals”, microscopic cancer causing molecules.
Ingestion of the green tea leaf has also been proven to aid in weight loss. Although this may seem unusual, studies have shown that people drinking green tea burn significantly more calories every day. This extra amount of burnt calories every day can make a huge difference over a long period of time. This is why many people are strict believers the green tea diet.
There are currently many vitamins being offered as green tea extract supplements. Although these substitutes may be beneficial, they are not as effective as drinking real tea.
Many other industries are currently recognizing the importance of the green tea leaf and they are placing it in their products. It is not common to find green tea extract in shampoos, facial creams and dozens of other beauty products. The rejuvenating effects of the green tea leaf are sending ripples through the worlds of health and weight loss, and rightly so. |
